DUCO unveils DucoSun Cubic InsertFit, its new architectural solar shading system
DUCO presents DucoSun Cubic InsertFit, an aluminium louvre system with rectangular blades and concealed fixings, designed for contemporary façades. The latest addition to the DucoSun range, it combines refined design, structural performance and passive solar management.
Meeting the challenges of the modern façade: regulation, aesthetics and environmental impact
With the growing demands of energy regulations, managing summer thermal comfort has become a central challenge. By limiting solar gain through glazed surfaces, the DucoSun Cubic InsertFit louvre system helps reduce summer overheating and durably improves the thermal and visual comfort of building occupants.
Beyond its functional role, the system makes a bold architectural statement. Blade spans exceeding 5 m reduce the number of fixing points on the façade, while the clip-on finishing profile conceals all fixings entirely.
As a bioclimatic solution, the DucoSun Cubic InsertFit louvre contributes to a broader environmental approach: it is composed of 75 % recycled aluminium and is fully recyclable.
A versatile solution for unique façades
Whether used as a louvre screen, a graphic element or an architectural moulding feature, DucoSun Cubic InsertFit adapts to a wide range of projects. Available in rectangular blade profiles of 200×48 mm and 300×48 mm, it can be installed as a frame or as horizontal or vertical blades, with an adjustable pitch to suit solar shading requirements and architectural expression.
The system comprises a blade profile, a clip-on finishing profile providing concealed fixing, lateral end caps and - optionally - fixing brackets. Finishes are available in Qualanod-certified anodising or Qualicoat powder coating, in a wide choice of colours.
Optimised installation on site
The InsertFit system has been designed to streamline and simplify every stage of installation. The insertion of threaded flat bars into the blade profile, combined with fixing onto DUCO brackets or directly onto existing supports (steel structures, curtain walls, etc.), accommodates all types of configurations.
The clip-on finishing profile plays a key role: by instantly concealing the fixings, it ensures a consistent, clean finish with no additional work required.
The design, combined with long spans that minimise fixing points, reduces the number of operations, work at height and the risk of errors - optimising the overall installation process.
Key figures:
- 2 blade sections available: 200×48 mm and 300×48 mm
- Spans of up to 5,435 mm between two fixing points depending on configuration (at 800 Pa)
- 75 % recycled aluminium
